Kids grow up

Alison in BW

Our kids begin to leave us so soon.  Already, Alison is so busy with friends and activities that we hardly spend any time with her.  It’s so rare that I get to take pictures of her any more, that I savor the little time we do have.  She is growing up so fast, that I’m afraid we are going to miss large parts of it.  Being a parent is the most joyful experience that any human being can have, yet it is also the most tragic.

We are told, as new parents, to savor the moment because: time passes so fast. We don’t believe. My son, once a 4-year old boy cuddling in my lap, because his mother left us … is now a 43-year old man (and the best father ever). I wish that I had been as good, but I did the best I could in the context of times and circumstances. Savor the moment Bea and Anth, it is over in the blink of an eye.
