Photo of the Week

We photograph our children because time flys by so fast that we don’t want our memories of them to get left behind. We are often in such a hurry to capture a particular moment that we forget to think about how to best capture that moment. Abigail had a short-lived attachment to the above toy. I wanted to get a picture of it so that I could hold that moment of her childhood deep in my mind. The photo wasn’t planned, but one evening I caught her laying quietly on the floor with the toy in her hands. It was a moment I could not have planned. I grabbed my camera and quietly layed down beside her. I knew the real magic would be in the toy and hands, so I focused on those. With her little hands holding the toy before her, and her eyes dreamily fixed upon it, I snapped this single frame.
