Went to the poppy preserve near Lancaster yesterday hoping to have nice orange fields of poppies as a backdrop to pictures of my family. What did we find when we got there? Not much. Mostly small patches of orange polka dotted against a pretty big canvas of dull green (see above). The wind was gusting so hard that Abi could barely stand, and it was cold…too cold to stay out in the open too long. It was a long drive that promised little return. But, it’s hard sometimes to accept defeat. Although I didn’t get the pictures I came for, I left with pictures that I’m not ashamed of (see below).
